As seen at gate D1 in Seattle. I’d also like to say that there is soo much more room in economy plus class, I may never go back to regular economy class with my long leg length.

I am often surprised airline seats are so thick. I would think they would make them thinner to decrease weight and increase
room.
B
ut,
I suppose it is for crash safety;
and,
they are a flotation device;
and,
they have to keep people comfortable for 9+ hours.

They have been getting thinner, but yeah it seems like they could be thinner still. I guess you couldn’t do an “Aeron chair” style setup because you can’t trust the passenger behind not to accidentally (or intentionally) kick the person in front in the back.

The bandwagon has been yuuuuge here since the Superbowl.
I’ve never paid more than $40 for the “premium” upgrade, always worth it even at my mere 6'1".

$15! For me the seat is so much larger.
I’m 6’ 3” so it makes a huge difference.

OK, fine, spelled with only one “l”.

I’m shocked how thin and terrible they are. Delta’s latest interior has seats no better than the ones everyone made fun of places like Spirit for a few years ago. Sure the legroom and amenities are better but I’m in so much discomfort and pain before we even leave the gate with these slimline seats. They’re a horrible shape for ergonomics and are “Cushioned” by nothing more than the upholstery material (I’d be absolutely shocked if there’s more than 1/2 inch of foam anywhere on that seat). Not sure your age but I’m late 20s and I remember the classic airline seat, which was basically a couch cushion with so much fondness. Wasn’t perfect but at least it wasn’t clearly meant as a cost cutting torture device. I wish the comfort+ upgrade used the extra seat pitch for better seats not legroom that only 6'4 people can appreciate (I’m 6' and have most car seats as far back as possible but have plenty of room for my knees in the back of a delta 737)

The Gorillaz version is one L. Not necessarily “wrong”, I think it’s an accepted variation.

I do not fly very often. I have not had the discomfort of a slimline seat yet. They sound really bad from what you say and what I just read on them.
